So, I decided to jump on my bike early in the morning and shoot some foggy forest landscapes. I found that little wetland with a group of birch trees growing in the center of it, I thought it may be a pretty good subject to take some pictures of. While reviewing photos on the screen I saw a horse on one of them. Wait, a horse? On the swamps? Firstly, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me after only 3 hours of sleep. Straight away, I moved my eyes from the screen and almost shit my pants when I realized what that thing was. A mamma moose... And a calf following her slowly. Even though I was scared to death after hearing all those stories about how dangerous encounters with a moose may be, especially when it has a baby along I decided to stay and wait for her reaction. She was slowly moving around me coming closer and closer. When the distance between us was around 30 meters she stopped and stared on me all the time like she wanted to say that it is time for me now and that I should probably get going. And so I did.
Such an awesome experience it was, I am not surprised why this animal is called for the king of the forest.
Sorry for the quality of the photo, I am mad at myself that I left the 85mm lens at home. Anyway, thank you very much for viewing! Copyright © Pawel Matys
